Norfolk Botanical Gardens are located in Norfolk, VA. It’s a beautiful outdoor area with different exhibits throughout the garden. Some exhibits are the Butterfly House, The Bicentennial Rose Garden (my favorite!), the Japanese Garden, and the WOW Children’s Garden. They have a lot of activities for children, so this is great for people with children!
Ticket prices are $12 for adult, $10 for children, and Toddlers (2 & Under) are free. Parking was free and there was plenty of it when we went. The Norfolk Botanical Gardens also have tram tours that are free with admission and they depart hourly. In addition, there are boat tours which cost $8.00 for adults and $5 for members. Ah yes, the Norfolk Botanical Gardens have memberships for people who go on a regular basis. There are family and individual packages, as well as discounts for military and seniors. So this is pretty affordable fun, depending on your budget.
My Recommendation: Is it worth it?
I love the outdoors so I was in HEAVEN at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. It was just absolutely stunning and it makes you really appreciate the creations God has made on this Earth. It’s extremely large so we weren’t able to get through all of the exhibits and some exhibits were closed, but I would definitely go back. I was *this* close to buying a membership while I was there because it was just breathtaking. One thing I forgot to add is that if you buy a membership the day you visit, then they will refund the admission of that day’s trip. Awesome, rght!? If you ever come to the Norfolk area, be sure to visit because it is most definitely worth it. Check out the website here for more information.
